About Our Organization

Fire Victims United (FVU) is a non-profit organization whose inception began in 2012 with its Chairman and CEO, Antonio Hayden. Mr. Hayden has built a strong network of firefighters, volunteers, and donators, while providing basic necessities, temporary shelter, and furniture to local Detroit fire victims--all with the goal of reducing the devastation of loss associated with residential fires affecting the Motor City.

About Our Mission

Dedicated to the Metro Detroit community, FVU has contributed to the frontline of defense for young and old who have personally experienced the tragedy of losing their home, possessions, and even loved ones to an unwanted blaze.  Another notable part of our mission is that of fire prevention education and providing access to fire deterrent equipment, like smoke detectors and fire extinguishers.

Originally, FVU owned an Estate Sale Resale storefront that provided the opportunity for the selling of donated furniture with all proceeds going towards helping the victims of fire tragedies.  There has been a shift in this facet of Our Mission. As we approach 2022, we are increasing our focus on gathering and distributing essential items, such as toothbrushes, soap, shampoo, clothing, and food, as well as providing temporary housing, including hotel room accommodations. All of which addresses the immediate needs of fire victims within our Detroit neighborhoods.
